Fatto a Mano ( FAM) is Italian for handmade. FAM showcases a boutique collection of dynamic female artisans. Founded by Roberta Torgerson in 2003, in collaboration with long standing artists Andrea Kohler, Shamila Jiwa, Ja Teuber and Stephanie Sykes featuring exclusive and exquisite design, made affordable by the intimate and private setting.
Currently in it’s 5th year, FAM creates a warm space to establish long-lasting relationships between the talented artisans and the appreciative clientele. Each year the addition of new designers enhances the caliber of FAM, making it a treasured event patronized by Seattle’s most discerning shoppers. It is a much anticipated holiday event to shop for unique gifts year in year out.

 The East London Design Show (or ELDS) is an annual event that brings together the best of the UK's independent product, interior and jewellery designers, all under one roof, in Shoreditch, just before Christmas. This means you can get unique and original Christmas prezzies, that your friends and family will love, and it's all in one place so it makes Christmas less hassle. It's also a really nice way to spend a few hours.

 Shamila will be showing her work in the Fashion Lounge at Nolcha Fashion Week in New York City on September 15th and 16th, 2009 from noon to 9pm. This is an exciting and an incredible opportunity and cannot wait to participate! She will be showing her new Fall 2009 collection titled "Chimera": a collection of sophisticated expressions of finely culled gemstones featuring dainty yet bold jewelry inspired by her recent sojourns to South East Asia and Turkey; expect to see sexy lariats, long duster earrings and some fanciful cocktail rings.
